Here is your chance to create an up-close-and-personal interview with the colors themselves! When we ask the right questions, we can watch their true colors come out from inside the Crayola Box and spring to life. We will become color biographers, and expose the quirky secret lives of the rainbow that the world has never seen (or touched, or smelled, or heard) before!

Two women-Two cultures-One music. The Fourth String explores the intense and unlikely relationship that grows between a Japanese master and an American student, both exiles from their own cultures who find refuge in the three strings of the Japanese shamisen. As they confront each other, and themselves, each learns what gives their life purpose and what belonging truly means. Part travelogue, part portrait, The Fourth String offers a rare glimpse into a relationship seldom seen today: its beauty, its dangers, its hidden and difficult pleasures. 10:00-12:00
    2019/03/16

What’s Underneath: A Creative Nonfiction Writing Workshop
In this generative workshop, we’ll focus on creative nonfiction in its various forms. We’ll examine how most relatable narrators in nonfiction are often deeply flawed. It is this notion that connects us with the humanity in great writing. But it is also the idea of imperfection that can often be so difficult to write. We’ll talk about our vices and vulnerabilities and how they can be fuel for writing about true life.

They work at El Centro, a group of safety-net clinics that offer care to all who walk through the doors, regardless of ability to pay. March 25, 6:30 pm

Ring of Fire, a memoir by Yenna Yi, is a story of time and places, war and poverty, and sailing the big waters of the globe on a home-built catamaran. Yi talks about the joy of family, loss of loved ones and reflections on the journey. Yenna Yi was born in South Korea. She moved to Munich, Germany to attend college where she met an American graduate student. Yenna and Steve married in Vienna, went to Hawaii and built a 48′ catamaran, Melekai, and had two sons. They lived on Melekai for 14 years, homeschooling their sons while sailing around the globe. Yenna Yi lived in Vermont from 1989 until 2002 and now lives in Massachusetts working as a psychotherapist. Books will be available for sale and signing.

The uneasy balance between these worlds is soon shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer. March 27, 7 pm

Won’t You Be My Neighbor? takes an intimate look at America’s favorite neighbor: Fred Rogers. The documentary tells the story of a soft-spoken minister, puppeteer, writer and producer whose show was beamed daily into homes across America for more than 30 years. In his beloved television program, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Rogers and his cast of puppets and friends spoke directly to young children about some of life’s weightiest issues in a simple, direct fashion. There hadn’t been anything like Mr. Rogers on television before or since. Sponsored by Indie Lens Pop-Up and Kellogg-Hubbard Library
