    The first Sunday of each month, CAL is please to host a Community Song Circle: a community sing-along open to ALL ages and musical abilities – all you need is a love of singing. We use the popular songbooks Rise Up Singing and Rise Again. Bring your copies if you have them; books will also be available to borrow or purchase.     This winter Robin’s Nest will continue to run although less frequently than in the fall and spring. We will meet the following. This is an outdoor playgroup for parents, caregivers, and children ages 0-5. Join us for 2 hours of spontaneous play, exploration, discovery, song, nature-inspired art, and oral storytelling. This playgroup offers a community experience that models ways in which the   natural environment can be used as a tool for child-led learning and play.

    *This playgroup is based entirely outdoors. Please be prepared with water, snack, and warm clothing that is suitable for getting wet and dirty!

    Montpelier Memory Cafe ,( www.montpeliermemorycafe.net ) meets the second Saturday of each month, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, at Montpelier Senior Activity Center, 58 Barre Street in Montpelier. The Cafe is a social gathering where people in early to mid-stage memory loss disorders, and their care partners, can come together to connect and support one another in a  relaxed, non-judgmental atmosphere. Participants enjoy social time and food, as well as activities and exercise. These may include art, music, dance and movement. People living with memory loss and their care partners are all invited to attend. Admission is free. (Please note that the Memory Cafe is not a drop-off or adult day care center. Each participant is expected to be accompanied by a care partner.) Call Liz Dodd at 229-9630 for more details.

Past NBNC’s youth and young adult teams have tallied nearly 100 species in this adventure to the New Hampshire and Massachusetts coast, including gems like Razorbill, King Eider, and Snowy Owl.     Josh Halman, Forest Health Specialist with Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation. The timing of budbreak in the spring and development of fall color are highly dependent on light and temperature. As our world warms this timing is likely to change, and we have already seen the impacts in Vermont.This talk will present findings from over 25 years of monitoring forest trees and plant life in the state.
