AUDITIONS

General Auditions for 2018 Season at Lost Nation Theater

Actors-Singers-Movers age 15 and up.

Prepare 2 contrasting monologues and 16 bars of a song (optional) no longer than two total minutes.

Bring a headshot and resume. Roles open in most shows.

Filled with the humor, honesty, and life-affirming spirit of Karola Ruth Siegel, the girl who became “Dr. Ruth,” America’s most famous sex therapist. Her incredible journey – from fleeing the Nazis in the Kinderstransport, to serving as a sniper in Jerusalem, to struggling to succeed as a single-mother newly arrived in America – is deftly illuminated in this laughter-filled and moving solo show starring LNT’s own Maura O’Brien (Always Patsy Cline, Sylvia) as Dr. Ruth.

In the September 8th Vermont Dance Sampler performance at the UVM Music Recital Hall, we will be showcasing work by: Erb Dance Company, PH Dance & Ers, a new improvisation collective directed by Hanna Satterlee, Julian Barnett, Danielle Tekut, Toni Nagy and Peggy Brightman!
This group of choreographers represents many districts throughout VT, and bringing together artists from thoughout the state has been a leading force within the mission of VDA! It will be a wonderful evening of diverse artistic expressions.

The Royal Frog Ballet is once again bringing their annual Surrealist Cabaret to the rolling hills of Barnard, Vermont to team up with Fable Farm for a field spectacular. The Surrealist Cabaret is a walking performance and installation event that travels audiences through gorgeous farm landscape at autumnal sunset. Along the way they encounter a surreal collection of short stories, dance, sculpture, music, and roving characters that explore and celebrate themes of season, place, and what it means to be human in these times. Outdoor performances of The Surrealist Cabaret will take place at Feast and Field Market, in Barnard, VT beginning promptly at 5pm, Friday through Sunday on September 21, 22, and 23. The tour continues to Easthampton, MA in October. A folky, comedic and ritualistic evening for all ages. Tickets can be purchased on our website in advance or at the door. $18 adults, $9 children, babes in arms free
