The Mass includes a communal sharing of bread and aioli.

For anyone who wishes to participate in the performance of the Mass, rehearsals are at 3:30pm, 30 minutes before each show.

    2016/12/08
294 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington, VT, United States

294 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington, VT, United States

Boston Marriage, a play by David Mamet, will be presented at The Off Center for the Dramatic Arts, Thursday, December 8-10 at 7:30, and Sunday, December 11 at 2:00.  The show is produced by Marabo Productions, and is directed by Bob Carmody (Charlotte).

Boston Marriage is set in a late Victorian era

Boston drawing room, the scene of much backbiting wit from Anna (Roberta Harold, Montpelier) and Claire (Mary Scripps, Charlotte). Anna is being kept by a married man, but she prefers the company of women. Claire, Anna’s lover, has become infatuated with a much younger woman whom she hopes Anna will help her seduce. As the two women exchange barbs and take turns taunting Anna’s hapless parlor maid, Catherine (Naomi Ruth, Shelburne), Claire’s young crush suddenly appears, setting off a crisis that puts both a valuable emerald and the women’s futures at risk.  To this wickedly funny comedy, Mamet brings his trademark tart dialogue and impeccable plotting, mixed with double entendres and vernacular expressions, to explore the relationship between the two women and their maid. Through humor and nuance, the play explores the negotiation, conflict, compromise and reconciliation that arise in their relationship.

The Off Center for the Dramatic Arts is located at 294 N. Winooski Avenue, Ste. 116C, Burlington, VT 05401, near the corner of Archibald and N Winooski Ave. Free parking is available. For advanced tickets go to VTBostonMarriage at brownbagtickets.com. Tickets may also be available at the door. For more information email Mary Scripps at maryscripps@hotmail.com.
