Concert of musical traditions to benefit the Open Hands Cafe on Friday, February 2nd at 7:00pm at Christ Episcopal Church in Montpelier.

    64 State Street, Montpelier VT

Come bring your friends, neighbors and anyone wanting to help make a difference in our community to a concert to benefit the new “”Open Hands Cafe”” . On Friday evening, February 2nd starting at 7:00PM, area musicians Pam Bockes, Leeds Brewer, David Kaynor and Susan Reid will be performing at Christ Episcopal Church in the Parish Hall. These accomplished musicians don’t limit their tastes to any single genre. Rather, they play what they love including Swedish, Quebecoise, English Dance, Irish and American tunes as well as their own compositions.

A suggested donation of $10 per person will go to benefit the new Open Hand Cafe also located in the Parish Hall of Christ Church and open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 5:30 to 11:00. The Open Hands Cafe offers a delicious, hot, homemade and inexpensive breakfast menu and is the brain-child of George Estes as an effort to develop community, support the church, provide a warm safe place for the cold morning hours and fabulous food. Please come offer your support. Any contribution will be graciously accepted.

Scrag does Romantic music!  Anchored by the soaring and passionate Mendelssohn Piano Trio no. 1, this program explores music from the 19th century Romantic era and also neo-romanticism as it was revived in the 20th century.  Two pieces by Erich Korngold demonstrate his versatility as both a film and theater composer (the Suite for violin and piano was originally written for a production of Much Ado About Nothing) and also writing art song.  This is music to warm your heart in a cold winter!
