Noyle Johnson Group presents:
Dave Keller’s 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Extravaganza!!!
Montpelier City Hall
Sunday December 31, 2017, 9 p.m.
Ring in the New Year in style — at the capital city’s biggest dance party! Noyle Johnson Group presents Dave Keller’s 5th Annual New Year’s Eve Extravaganza at City Hall Arts Center in Montpelier.
Back by popular demand, Dave Keller is upping the excitement this year, bringing his 9-piece Soul Revue! In the tradition of the great soul revues of the 1960’s (e.g., James Brown, Aretha Franklin), Keller has put together a group of Vermont’s most soulful musicians to keep the dance floor packed til well past midnight. Featuring three soul-fired singers (Keller, Morgan Klarich, and April Caspari), the fantastic Mo’ Sax Horns (Joe Moore, Jessica Friedman, and John Harrison), plus many extra-special surprise musical guests, all backed by Keller’s road-tested core band, this promises to be an unforgettable evening of fun for all ages.
The City Hall Arts Center (home to Lost Nation Theater) will be transformed into a club atmosphere for the night, with a cash bar, desserts for purchase, complimentary champagne (21+) or sparkling cider toast at midnight, countdown and disco ball drop, dance contests, door prizes, and more! Fine attire suggested but not required. All ages welcome!
Keller is known throughout VT, and across the U.S., as being one of the finest Soul and Blues musicians of his generation. A fiery guitarist, a deep soul singer, and a songwriter who writes from his heart, Keller has performed at the largest blues festivals in the East, as well as at respected venues such as B.B. King’s (Memphis) and Biscuits and Blues (San Francisco).
His most recent CD, Right Back Atcha, was chosen as one of the best CDs of 2017 by Downbeat Magazine. His previous CD, featuring Al Green’s original Hi Rhythm Section, was a Blues Music Award Nominee for Best Soul/Blues Album of the Year. In addition to fronting his own Dave Keller Band, Keller has performed with many of the deepest soul and blues musicians: Ronnie Earl, Mighty Sam McClain, Big Jack Johnson, Fontella Bass, Dave Van Ronk, Robert Ward, and more.
