Saturday, November 11th, 7 pm
Waitsfield United Church of Christ, 4335 Main Street, Waitsfield
In honor of Veterans Day, one of the region’s premiere brass chamber music groups will present an evening of music by American composers, including patriotic favorites and selections by Bernstein, Joplin, and Sousa. InoraBrass will be joined by guest speaker Fred Messer, Commander of Mad River American Legion Post 75.
InoraBrass members are Chris Rivers and Jason Whitcomb, trumpets, Joy Worland, horn, Lori Salimando-Porter, trombone, and Bill Keck, tuba. Individually they perform and teach extensively throughout New England and Northern New York, and have played as a quintet in Burlington, the Mad River Valley, the Northeast Kingdom, and Plattsburgh. Inora’s debut concert in August 2014 “wowed” Seven Days reviewer Amy Lilly with a “sonorous wall of blown sound.” In sharing their artistry through live performances and music education, InoraBrass celebrates the parallel between the majesty of brass music and the natural beauty of Vermont and Northern New York.
Free admission, accessible entrance, family friendly. This concert is sponsored by the Friends of the Joslin Library.
