Nat Frothingham chats with Newton Baker, a 73-year-old former Montpelier, Vermont teacher who ran over 3,100 miles on January 16, 2015 Starting in Huntington Beach, California to Washington, D.C. He ran a marathon a day with a rest day every 10 days. One day he ran in freezing rain. His glasses froze on his head and he couldn’t press the button on his iPhone to check the map!

“I ran to promote chidhood fitness,” Baker says.
